Plan Session Devotion: God is Turning It For Good

by | Nov 4, 2015 | DEVOTIONS

We know what Romans 8:28 says. It is probably a favorite to many of us. It says, “We know.” It says “We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” But can we really know? Can we truly know when we are going through something we never thought we would, facing something we never imagined we would, dealing with circumstances we hoped we never would? Yes, we can know.

We can know nothing about how it can possibly all work out, but we can know that God is good, and He never changes. We can resent it all, but know that God wastes nothing. We don’t have to know how He does it, we just have to know He can and will.

Our Father, whose love is unfailing, takes all the random parts — welcome and unwelcome, good and not so good, ugly and beautiful — and works them together intentionally and thoughtfully into the intricately woven tapestry of our life. He works and weaves for our good and His purpose. And His purpose is always good.

Though you cannot see with your eyes — your emotions deceive you, the lies in your mind seem louder than the truth your heart knows, and things keep rocking your world in all the wrong ways — you can count on God working it all together for you in all the right ways.

I believe this calls for a yes and amen!

Additionally, here are a few correlating verses that you can study and go little deeper with: Romans 8:28-30, Psalm 36:5-10, Isaiah 61:1-3. I pray these words spoke truth and life to your heart. If they have, will you share your thoughts in comments with us?
