Prayer Devotion: Agree With God

by | Feb 8, 2016 | DEVOTIONS

The angel spoke to Mary about what the Lord had planned for her life. “The angel said to her, ‘The Holy Spirit will come on you. The power of the Most High will cover you. The holy Child you give birth to will be called the Son of God'” (Luke 1:35).

Though the plan was impossible for any man or woman, Mary did not disagree with God’s purpose for her. Mary said, “I am willing to be used of the Lord. Let it happen to me as you have said” (Luke 1:38).

Agree with God, like Mary did.

I think it’s one of the most important things for us to do in this walk of faith. I heard a preacher say once, “If it’s not your will, don’t say it.” How often do we say what we have (by sight) instead of speaking life (by faith) into the promises God made us?

Sometimes we agree with the enemy’s plan and lies without even realizing it, but God asks us to intentionally agree with His plan and His truth. To agree with God is to be of the same mind and opinion as Him—to see what He sees and how He sees.

What does God think of you? You are one radically loved by Him. What does He see when He sees you? He sees the righteousness of Christ. He sees His masterpiece.

Let’s not agree with the enemy’s lies about us ever again. Let’s agree with what God has said about us, our life, and our future. Amen.

Go Deeper: 2 Corinthians 5:7, Romans 4:17, Hebrews 11:6, Luke 1:26-38.
