I AM ENOUGH

by: Ashlie Oestreich

There are a million things in this life that beg for our attention. Voices that tell us to do more, be more – perhaps the loudest is the one within? From a young age we are inundated with the idea that our success in life is determined by our accomplishments. I don’t know about you, but some days I feel like I work so hard and yet at the end of the day I have no idea what I actually accomplished. It can feel discouraging, and I find myself teetering on the edge of wannabe-perfection. Inevitably an article, Pinterest idea, or the girl at Bible study will mention something that I’m not doing – but I become convinced I SHOULD be. So, the try-hard life ensues. It looks different depending on the day or season, but the nagging question at the base of the soul is the same: “When will I ever be enough?”

Let yourself fall back with a deep sigh into the comfy chair of God’s wild grace and lavish love with the truth that says, “My daughter, you don’t have to be. I AM.”
