Presence Session Devotion: Deep Calls Unto Deep

by | Dec 7, 2015 | DEVOTIONS

Our spirits long for God’s Presence so much more than we allow ourselves to linger in it. Deep calls unto deep. Our depths cry out for the depths of God. Our spirits are thirsting for His living water, hungry for His daily bread, and His Spirit is willing to pour into us. Our spirits are wiling too, but our flesh is weak.

And we try to hold all the things together ourselves and apologize for missing our time with Him, because we feel overwhelmed and overworked. We say we are sorry and promise God, “Later. When I’m done. Tomorrow, I’ll make time. I will. When I’m not so tired, I’ll come.” Then we feel guilt and condemnation—the very thing the enemy wants us to feel because he knows it will keep us away even longer.

But the Lord says to us, “Come to Me, now. If you only knew and truly understood in My Presence is fullness of joy and strength for your journey, you would come and stay.

Come.
Come to Me.
Come, now. I have everything you need.

Rest here.
Wait for Me.
And I will send you out—equipped, filled, and made ready.”
