Presence Session Devotion: A Child is Given

by | Dec 25, 2015 | DEVOTIONS

“The virgin will conceive a child. She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us'” (Isaiah 7:14).

During worship at our Christmas Eve service, I found myself praying these words for you and my family as well. I prayed for God to give you a renewed sense of holy wonder for the glorious mystery wrapped up in that manger over 2000 years ago.

As you celebrate Christmas, enjoying your family Christmas traditions, may your morning be filled with God’s holy presence. May your day be filled with grace and peace. May your soul be filled with awe. May your heart and home be filled with unspeakable joy.

And may your mouth be filled with worship for the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, because He is Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and our Prince of Peace. In Jesus sweet name, Amen.

Very, Merry, Merry Christmas, friends.

Go Deeper: Isaiah 7:14, Revelation 19:16, Isaiah 9:6.

This devotion is one of many that are part of our Presence Session. To find all the Presence Session Devotions, please click here.
