When You Have No Hope For Your Future
Hope again. God doesn’t want you to settle. The devil does, and he rather you stay asleep to your life. But you have a hope and a future. If only you really knew how much potential you have in God, no circumstance in your life, no obstacle in your way, no giant in your path, nor any power of darkness would be able to stop you from pressing on toward the call of God.
Pray to see what God sees.
Paul prays a prayer in Ephesians 1:18 that is proof that the Lord wants us to see the hope we have in Him. It’s a powerful prayer for us to pray, also. Paul prays, “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you.”
Let us never stop praying to see what God sees in us.
- You were made for more.
- There is hope for your future.
- Dare to believe.
You Were Made For More
Can I be honest with you? For a very long, long season of my life it felt like I was just going through the motions trying to get through the next day. Because of that, I was unable to enjoy what was right in front of me or see any good in my future.
At other times, I carried this abysmal feeling in the pit of my stomach. It felt like my true-self was locked up inside of me crying out for freedom, yet she was slowly dying. Sometimes we call that “losing ourselves”. It’s not how God intends for us to live.
Think about where you are in life. Think about the feelings you associate with that place, and ask: Is this what I want for my life? Am I living the life I’m called to? Is this what God wants for my life? If you answer no, especially to the last question, it’s time to seek God.
Asking those kind of questions help me wake up to my life, when I seem to be just going through the motions. Remember, we are called to be active participants not passive observers of our life. When we lack vision, hope, and joy, feel discontentment, regret, and disappointment, we should acknowledge those feelings, but not settle into them.
You were made for more. God has more for you than you can imagine. You don’t have to settle for a mediocre life when Jesus promised to give life to the full. Remember, you are in the process of becoming. God is calling you and inviting you to partner with Him. He is saying there is more for you.
There is Hope For Your Future
It’s an often quoted verse, but don’t believe for one second that it is any less powerful of a promise for you. Jeremiah 29:11 is full of hope, because it is from the God of all Hope who is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
“For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
That promise from God was given to the Israelites, God’s people, when they were in captivity in a land that wasn’t theirs. He wanted them to know that where they were was not where they would stay. They reality was they were in bondage, but God wanted them to have hope for their future.
In the places where you feel like things will never change and you don’t have what it takes, pray for hope to come and let it rise in you. God wants to give you hope for your future. What you have today is not all you will ever have. There is more.
Your past does not determine the future. God can and will redeem your past. You do have power to make steps toward change. The best steps are the ones you take toward God. He is the one that brings transformational change.
Dare To Believe
Dare to believe there is more in your future than what’s in your past. Dare to believe that God can do far above what you can ask or even dream by the power that works in you. Dare to receive the grace God is offering you—the empowerment to do what you cannot do on your own.
Dare to offer your life, no matter how small and insignificant you may think it is, into the hands of a God who can feed a multitude with two fish and five loaves of bread. Dare to rise from the place you are and let God breathe new life into you. Dare to take a step, then another, and another until you are being who God created you to be and are doing what He created you to do.
There is hope for your future. Wait and see what God will do, then tell everyone about it.
Encouraging you on,
