Real prayer is something we learn. When Jesus walked the earth, His disciples took the opportunity to ask Him to teach them how to pray. If prayer was not something that was not learned, Jesus would have said so. Instead, He taught them. {Luke 11:1}

Let us ask of Him the same. Lord, teach us how to pray.

“Jesus never taught His disciples how to preach, only how to pray. He did not speak much of what was needed to preach well, but much of praying well. To know how to speak to God is more than knowing how to speak to man. Not power with men, but power with God is the first thing. Jesus loves to teach us how to pray.” — Andrew Murray

Let us never cease praying simply because we don’t think we know how. Rather, let us never cease practicing.

“We would do well to read widely and experience deeply if we desire to know the ways of prayer.” —Richard J. Foster
