TO BREATHE IS TO PRAY
by: Michele-Lyn Ault
Prayer should not be a habit tacked onto our lives. To breathe is to pray. May God make it so for us. May we be counted among those who have walked with God, and viewed prayer as the main business of our lives.
Oh, how our days tax us! In the busyness of them, how do we pray without ever stopping? {1 Thessalonians 5:17}
“There is a way of ordering our mental life on more than one level at once. On one level we may be thinking, discussing, seeing, calculating, meeting all the demands of external affairs. But deep within, behind the scenes, at a profounder level, we may also be in prayer and adoration, song and worship, and a gentle receptiveness to divine breathings.” —Thomas Kelly
May we hunger for a life of greater, deeper, truer prayer.
